About smpld.
As part of my undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield, I was given the opportunity to research an area outside of my discipline and share this with a non-specialist audience. Over the last year, I have extensively researched the recording and production of sample libraries and I'm pleased to present smpld. - my personal sampling project.

The initial goal of smpld. was to create a sample library, though as the project developed I decided to also build a sample player, enabling the library to be used in any DAW that supports VST3 / AU formats without the need for additional software. The end result is a great sounding sample instrument, available on Windows and MacOS, designed by me from start to finish.

Better still, I've documented the whole process. From a brief overview to a complete breakdown, check out the blog for more info on how I did it.
